It looks like a turnip to me!



Description - The rutabaga is very similar to the turnip except that it generally has yellowish flesh, a more dense root with more side shoots and they are usually harvested at a larger size. Unlike the turnip, the rutabaga has smooth, waxy leaves.

LOL........good old rutabagas, my husband loves them! I'll eat them, but not real fond of them. I take it you 2 have never tried them?

Maybe, not sure. I don't think we've ever cooked them at home. (Uh, do you eat them cooked, or raw? )

You cut them up in chunks, cover with water, add some ham or bacon and boil until tender. Cornbread is good with them. Try them!
