Dan why wasn't the destruction of the Temple recorded in their letters and the book of Revelation if their writings were later?

Most theologians disagree w/ your first point ....
Second ... many things about preterism appeal to me ... especially their tendency to interpret with accuracy the metaphorical nature of Revelation.
But the 70 A.D teaching held by some of them is way off .... and requires theological, logical, verbal and historical gymnastics.

All I can say is that if you ever hear anyone sing those songs around you, you have two choices.

Agreed. I like preterism's approach to Revelation and it does do away with some of the millennial wackiness; but the 70 AD stuff and trying to force the writing of the book of Revelation into the 60's of the 1st century is where they break down.

Really Dan, please tell me WHY they disagree? Then Dan you can tell me why they believe in a late date. Dan the late date is taken from one source, do you know what it is?

I love many things about you Dan, but I would suggest that having a teaching appeal to you because of sybolism would not be the best way to determine it's truth.

You are wrong, and you said totally nothig with your above statment.
Partail Preterism is the step child that muddies the water, and needs Josephus to bail it out. When you make an attempt to study what Fulfilled Eschatology is then you may speak.
