Man made right? So Jesus would sit down and watch one of those rated r movies with you huh? Wait a minute he probably would't want me to waste my time with useless banter on here either. I apologize for wasting your time and His.

When the TV issue was passed there was no cable. I would dare say that 80 to 90% of our ministers are in violation of the manual because they have a TV set they use for a monitor.

Here are the bylaws. Maybe they left too much room in them for debate??
Quote:
31. No minister having a television in his or her home, shall be permitted to hold license or credentials with the United Pentecostal Church International. Furthermore, no United Pentecostal Church International minister shall be permitted to advertise or minister on television. This does not preclude unsolicited representatives of the news media covering functions.
32. The use of video must strictly be limited to those areas in which motion picture cameras and projectors are traditionally permitted to be used: namely, in taking of pictures of families, friends, and church activities and the viewing of educational, religious, and inspirational films that are consistent with wholesome Christian principles. Furthermore, we strongly oppose the viewing of all worldly motion pictures and video films that are shown commercially in theaters and on television for entertainment purposes. All video receivers must be altered so that they are not able to receive television channels.

I would hate to have to shock you with the Bible because then i'd be judgmental. You would not listen to any argument I said. I'm sure you've heard them all before. You have an excuse for everything I would say. The scary thing about that is that the same people that come up with an excuse about cutting hair and wearing pants are the same ones that are going to say "this mark on my hand isn't so bad, after all I can't buy food without it, i'll be okay even though i've heard preachers mention the mark of the beast". I hope and pray for the sake of your thinking that we go Pre-Trib. Now I do really have to go. Good Night

Will you go ahead and start advertising anyway?
Will there be another "Resolution Run" at a future GC?
Will you leave the Org?
Will you back away and just let it go, allowing that the Org is settled in NOT having tv as a viable means of evangelizing?
and lastly..........................
Will you get rid of the TV you have ready and waiting for a passed resolution?

I've been following this banter and I have one request....
Answer the questions posed a few posts back...
"Does your computer play DVDs?"
...and..
"Do you have internet access to ABC.com and other major networks who now 'air' the same programming via the internet?"
WARNING: If you answer yep to either of these questions you may not be as holy as you thought you were 30 minutes ago.......

If it doesn't pass I hope all the others leave so we can be done with them.

honestly? By and large I don't see why He wouldn't...
There is nothing worse in those r-rated movies than you see walking into a mall or a store or anywhere else in society...
Besides, I don't watch "any" movie, I do have some standards... I just happen to like action movies and zombie movies... and those are rated r because there are lots of guns firing and some people die and stuff....
