I did to and that is why I beat them to it!!!
As you know the fact that they were thought to perhaps be drunk on the Day of Pentecost when they spoke in tongues has been used to justify all sorts of bizzarre behaviour in Pentecost under the guise of "worship".

Has anyone here ever been to a mass hypnosis thing? In college they would have them for entertainment. Anyway, there would be kids leaving like they were still hypnotized and could not get out of it. I felt this same "spirit" at Youth camps I would go to. THat was so scarey to me the day I realized that.
Anyway, one youth camp I was at all the youth were wanting to stand in line because a "certain" preacher was there laying hands on people and they were falling out and getting "Holy Laughter" well all youth went through the line. Then it progresseed into all youth started acting like dogs. I admitt I was one of them because that is what everyone was doing. Some kids were even barking and going under pews. This was a UPC Camp and with a preacher that probable most would know. ( This was way before I heard about the Toranto thing)

Then why in the world did UPC so criticze Toronto when these things started happening??? I had no idea that ever went on in UPC. When we went to Toronto, there were definitely some WEIRD manifestations taking place, and some of them were not of God, I'm sure.

I think it is very safe to say dog barking never achieved any real acceptance in the UPC. (thankfully!)

It wasn't Brownsville, so much as Toronto. Toronto was where the really strange manifestations were going on. Brownsville was more just deep deep repentance and salvation messages. They played Vickie's song "Mercy Seat" EVERY NIGHT at altar call and sinners literally ran to the altars in repentance. Toronto was more of an encounter type thing - attended more by saved people than unsaved.
