No offence, but you just associated it with judgment, and the term does not imply that.

Re: Why I Am A Futurist
No offense taken. I don't really know in what order things will take place in but I thought most of all believed in a judgement day?

Yes, I most certainly do. But the term RAPTURE does not mean nor involve that whatsoever. That's my point. To ask if one believes in a future rapture, and imply the issue of future judgment as well is adding to the term something that the term does not actually include.
Asking for belief in a future rapture technically is asking if one believes we will physically change and be caught up in the air. No more.
So, if you ask about faith in a future rapture and future judgment, since the two are not synonymous, that is another story.
Also, in my understanding the rapture/resurrection takes everyone, including sinners, to the white throne judgment. No one can be left behind because there is no time to carry on to be left behind in. It's resurrection then judgment.

Re: Why I Am A Futurist
BTW. My questions aren't loaded. I am curious about others beliefs. The only doctrinal stance that I take is pretty general. The bride of Christ will one day unite with the Groom and all those who aren't a part of the bride will suffer eternal judgement. I'm not completely convinced that Hell will be the literal pit of fire many envision, neither am I convinced that heaven will literally be how most perceive it either. One thing is for sure you want to be at heaven experiencing the eternal joy, peace, etc. than experience eternal damnation.

My view on prophecy is that it affects how we live in there here and now in the Kingdom. The difference I see in view is that most popular views rob of of distinctly what the bible says is ours right now, and throws it into heaven or a millennium. That's why most folks consider prophecy moot, and become PAN TRIB in their views, because nothing they are aware of in prophecy is meant for the here and now. And that is a mistaken notion. True prophecy affects us in the here and now.
yes, there's a heaven in the future. But true prophecy says we're in the kingdom now and can overcome satan, sickness, sin, the world and our own flesh! That is somewhat nullified in popular prophecy.

I have always struggled at what point a rapture took place in the book of Revelations. I have wondered if those who return with Christ are actually just the saints that have died prior. Only my thoughts nothing I doctrinally hold to.

Personally, I only see it in Rev 20 just before the white throne.
But people always throw the term rapture onto events surrounding it, like judgment and trib, which is again why I dislike it.

Re: Why I Am A Futurist
Many people who lock into some doctrinal stance sometimes also feel subconsciously that so many things must come to pass first. That somewhat can take away the element of expectation that we are admonished by Christ to have every day. Live every day like it may be your last is how I have always believed.
