Oh my...I don't think I could eat a $400 meal! One time at Atlantis, my family ate in one of the restaurants there and the bill was just over $200 for four of us. I felt guilty over that for days!!!!

I think the whole thing boils down to who paid the bill, the one who ordered the lobster, the other guy, or was the church footing the bill?? If it was the church, then I think it was totally out of order. If it was the other guy paying, I still think it was rude and not very thoughtful. If the guy who ate the lobster paid for it too, then it's probably none of my business. He may be ultra-rich!

Sherry you are right, and that is what I have been trying to say--the church is one that footed the bill not the guest.

Then the pastor (or person responsible for paying the bill with the church card) should have spoken up and refused when the order was placed.

Is this over the top in your opinion ????

I believe it to be extravagant and a poor steward of what God has given to him.

I don't know if it is sin but I believe it must be close.

Well, then that's just WRONG!! Good people give money to the church trusting that it will be used wisely. If the pastor had wanted to bless someone with $400, that would be different. But for a visiting minister to order something like this????? That man would never be coming back to preach for us, I don't care who he is.

I can't stand when ministers are scheduled and then they send you a long list of requirements they "need" before they will come, i.e. five star hotel with restaurant, certain type of transportation, etc. When that happens, we pass that minister on by and go for someone not so presumptuous.

I guess he really wanted the lobster....Or he didn't understand the exchange of foreign currency . He may have thought "what a deal"!

Or maybe he can afford that, if so more power to him, really it's none of my business~
