It??

Is the Spirit (Holy Spirit, Spirit of Jesus Christ, Christ in you, Spirit of God) an it or a ?
If the Holy Ghost is God, wouldn't you call Him by a personal pronoun like He or Him? We don't refer to Jesus as it, nor do we refer to our Heavenly Father as it.

When the Holy Ghost is reduced to nothing more than a tongue talking experience than it's easier to think of the Holy Ghost as an "it".

I wonder if God knows he's considered an IT... and if he does, does he mind being called an IT?

Where did you get that from what I asked? The Holy Ghost, the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, the manifest presence of God, the power to overcome the flesh, the fuel to rocket us to meet Jesus in the air, is way more than just the one evidence of speaking in tongues.

Doesn't Romans state that we are none of His if His Spirit doesn't dwell in us?

Doesn't it appear in Acts 8 that even thought they believed in the power of Jesus name and were baptized into it, they were not filled with the Holy Ghost until Peter and John came and laid hands on them?

Were they His if His Spirit had not indwelled them yet? Is Paul not stating the truth in his letter to the Romans?

Doesn't the word state "Christ IN you, the hope of glory"?

DWW,

TB will answer your questions.

but this is one of the problems I have w/ your position ...

When used against Baptists .... "having the Spirit" means being part of the body of Christ ... therefore they can't be in it ...

Yet when the issue of trinitarian Pentecostals and Charismatics is brought up ... the "having the Spirit" argument no longer applies to them being part of the body .... IT'S VERY INCONSISTENT ... they are either HIS OR NOT HIS ... you can't have it both ways ....

Daniel you know very well that we believe it is not only Baptism of the Spirit, but also in the Name of Jesus that puts one in the Body.

No inconsistency there.

What are you guys trying to say? If the Holy Spirit is a "he" and not an "it", does that mean the Holy Spirit is

.... (wait for it) ...

a PERSON????

(By the way, if it makes you feel any better, I've heard lots of trinnies call the HS "it", too!)
