I would wait until every one was done when I was in Junior camp ... I've always been SHY... the sulpher water wreaked as well.

In related news ... the counselors would send you out in your skimpys at night if you were cuttin' up after lights out... cruel as it would get pretty chilly.

They would??? Are you serious?

The Illinois camp showers had the coldest water in the history of the United States. Pretty much all of us just stunk all week.

Yeah ... I always wondered about the whole 'holiness' thing ... I think I even asked what would happen if a lady passed ... I never got an answer.

Although the dorms were isolated from each other.

Coldest water ... nah. Not as cold as the Pennsylvania Spanish camp ... I think I showered twice there in multiple years ...

That's why I'm stunned......they're gonna make a kid run around in skimpys while teaching against shorts, tank-tops, and "mixed bathing"? Why, I'm stunned by an inconsistency in the system!!!

Oh....our Illinois camp drinking water looked like watered-down milk.

just perhaps the mental picture of all those pompous and bombastic preachers nude together in a communal shower, each checking the others out.

I think the counselors saw it more like a prank ... Although nowadays they might be called out on such measures.

What really stunned me at one Junior camp was Lance Appleton's son, Eric, charging full speed and kneeing me in groin while playing football. Gave whole new meaning to "This Train Is Bound for Glory, This Train"

Had a huge black and blue bruise for weeks.

"Huge bruise." This conversation could get really awful at this point.
