Sounds like you've already made your decision.

Don't judge us all by the few loud mouths -

What is bad to the newcomer is that many are really "like" brothers and sisters and have been posting way too long with each other.

You have every right to speak up....that's what's so great about "free speech"!

Oh boy, do brothers and sisters quarrel, I'm from a family of eight and know this to be so true!
The good news is the sister I fought the most with I now call my best friend!

Second, I know what it's slang for and I would have used "hell" in that spot but I would have been infracted for it. Personally, I don't have problem with that phrase but since others may, I didn't use it.

Using "Hell" in that place would not have been cursing. However, saying "Oh my God" would be taking the Lord's name in vain which is a clear violation of one of the Ten Suggestions.
You're such a legalist!

If you're referencing Josh Hamilton's quote about smelling pot at AT&T Park, are you insinuating that no one in Arizona uses pot?

Re: Charnock's Hates Sin Thread

Adam, some people want to be right, more than they want to be right. I hope that is not confusing. And the discussions on AFF do not represent the whole body of Christ. Some of us struggle daily to be less carnal. That is the nature of man.

Sandie,

You referenced fear. Fear can be an asset and it can also cripple. Fear helps us when we look over the edge of the Grand Canyon. It keeps us from jumping and getting too close to risk falling. But it cripples us when it prevents us from doing what we know we should.

I struggle with fear of rejection, although weirdly, I relish in it here on the Forum...can't really explain that one. In "Real life" I have also struggled with the fear of people and I've had a tremendous struggle with shyness. It has held me back repeatedly. It's a bit cliche, but I've found that my fears diminish when I face them head on, and walk up to new people at church, reach out and hug them. Walls fall immediately, both in them and in me. I mean, I'm the pastor, for crying out loud, and I'm scared of people. On stage, no problem. Face to face? Horrible. Every single week, I walk through the wall of fear and hug new people...not just shake their hand. And it works every time.

Like I said, "Face your fears" is very cliche but I encourage you to face whatever fear it is you struggle with and tear down the wall.
