Dan, bless your heart, it wasn't your call or mine. We were not a part of
what was going on. No one asked me how they should do it.
Since you were not there and as you said, your mother told you what
happened, why start a thread criticizing those who were there. Why not
let GOD judge it! Some on this forum constantly criticize most everything
that goes on. So what if they took 40 offerings. Are you UPC! Why should
you care what goes on there if you weren't there. I don't agree with every-
thing that comes down the pike, but I don't serve the UPC. I appreciate
things about it, but I serve God and am not about to run down everything
that happens. A critical spirit can be worse than some of the things people
do.
Blessings,

Yet your AMEN'n someone who is preaching a doctrine that is not even 100 years old, and re-writing history in the process, all while using fear tactics to drive his point home.
I'm sick of this. I was recently told I would lose my family because my little girls (7 & 9 yrs old) play youth soccer. Some folks need to get a life.
We don't need this historical revisionist history, and its NOT whats going to keep our kids in the "way". What will make a difference is if we preach a TRUE repentance, and a TRUE seperation from the world, not based on clothes and a religious culture, but based on the morality and principles of the Bible. Ralationship over religion. Grace over legalism, and Truth over tradition. The best thing we can do for our kids, is honestly and truly live for Jesus Christ ourselves. Not live for the UPC, not live for a pastor, and not live for a doctrine. But to make ourselves disciples of the one true and living God.

I wonder how much the sandals of Jesus or Peter would fetch, and what would Jesus have to say about such 'offerings'? Now that one owns such a par of 'apostolic' shoes, what are they going to do with them? Put them on an alter, a pulpit, a glass case in the vestibule or a private office? What about a safe deposit box?
How much could a mere saint be charged for being allowed to rub one of the shoes and say a prayer over them? Might be better than a rosary! What were those shoes doing there in the first place?
We have taken pastor worship to a new level.

Really Falla, the passive -aggressive approach doesn't suit you ... you come on a thread where I ask several of my friends to donate to a worthy and commendable cause and you critically post that somehow we are all supporting the murder of innocent babies ... .... with unfounded lies and agenda-driven opinions ....but don't touch the golden goose ...

Ok, I'm watching it. Looks totally staged to me. What a disgrace. AND the guy with the mic TOTALLY egged it on and when it didn't take off in the beginning he chastised the crowd for not bidding. STAGED. 100%.
AND....you mean they...
OH!!! He just said, "Come on tightwads".
And you mean they could sell those shoes without the prior permission of the families?
Nuh uh.

Earlier when I was searching, Art Hodges the 14th, or whatever, listed Randy Keyes and Kenneth Haney as church planters. What churches did they plant?
