And, Matthew 25:42-46, does not even attempt to present a clear immigration policy for today's nation states. Would you contemplate trying to lure Jesus away from Galilee for a town home in Hoboken?

It's unlikely that all 6.5 billion would actually come to the US, but point well taken. Just wondering, WWJD? Would He be in favor of guarding our borders, deporting or jailing or shooting illegals? Not saying He wouldn't. Just wondering.

You have to be reasonable and remember, Timmy, that "WWJD" is ONLY a bracelet and/or t-shirt and/or decorative wear and NEVER to be taken seriously or actually lived out in the reality of life.

We are always required to ask what Jesus would do, but never actually do what Jesus would do! It's obvious that you don't know much about Christianity!!

Re: Locking borders Christian?

*Moved this reply I posted on another thread to here since it fits the topic*
This country used slave labor at the time of it's conception and everyone thought it was fine and dandy...then civil war broke out and its debatable whether slavery and freedom from it were actually the main issue....most will agree today that slavery is wrong and no one nor any race should be in that position...then there are those that defend the act of slavery and the necessity of the crops being picked in those days saying that at least they were taken from a hostile land and given advantages that weren't available where they came from...and their descendants profited from their enslavement....and the masters treated them well giving them medical care and feeding their families. Then others having used them until they couldn't anymore screamed "send them home"...If they don't like the way we treat them here let them go home...Fast forward and I'm so glad that we've come a long way as a country....

Did Jesus bless the slavery and killing of the native population by Christopher Columbus?

Did Jesus bless the idea of Manifest Destiny? that this huge country was given by God to white Europeans who were to commit ethnic cleansing and genocide against the native population?

Did Jesus bless
the countless broken treaties by the U.S. government;
the slaughter of whole tribes including women and children;
the distribution of disease ridden blankets;
the fortunes made by business men and Indian Agents selling rotton and inedible food to the Native Americans;
and
the children torn from families and sent to far away "Christian" schools where their language, customs, and hair were taken away from them?

Re: Locking borders Christian?

theres a good discussion going on on another thread about this subject...wish it would move here....the situation with the illegal immigration needs to be addressed as a nation...no doubt...but the attitude about this by many Christians seems to be much stronger or vocal than the problems we are facing as a country with illegal drugs, gangs, terrorism, child abuse, and so many more things that are sending this country in a downward spiral...most of these people simply want to work...which is more than I can say about a growing percentage of this country.
