Four of my six brothers are here (well, the fourth one will be in a few minutes), my niece and her husband and babies were here, plus 3 sisters in law and eight young nieces and nephews...and of course, mom...who fell and bruised her hand and knee and scared me nigh unto I don't know what!!

But aside from that upset, things have gone very well. They ate like hungry howies and David has just done his imitation (respectfully) of Sis. Urshan singing Jesus, My Only Hope and Harvest time. It was sweet...I know, but you had to be here...

I am truly blessed with so many brothers...I love them all, and as I've said so often, I wouldn't take a million dollars for them and wouldn't give ya a nickel for another!!

I've been up since early this morning...straightening things up from the crowd we had over the weekend and have done quite a bit of writing...really glad about that!!

I have about seven or eight acres of grass to cut. What is not in the woods, the remaining acreage will be left for pasture. Thank God for a good bushhog and a diesel tractor.

What are you pasturing out there?

I will have a very busy day as my boss will be going out on medical leave starting tomorrow and we'll spend today making sure all will go smooth while she is out.

I also have to meet with my employees to go over their performance reviews. One will be happy and one will be very sad, the others will just be glad they are over (as will I)!!!!

Where we lived at for five years before buying this house that is on a 1/2 acre lot I had 3 acres to mow. The first two years we lived there I mowed it with the little 12.5 HP Murray riding mower with a 40" cut. It was just too much for that size engine and at the end of the second summer the engine died.

I then went to Home Depot and got a twin cylinder large HP Murray mower (unbelievable deal for $1200) with a 42" cut. The cut wasn't that much wider but the twin cylinder engine was incredibly smooth compared to that little single cylinder one that used to vibrate me to death. I would have upgraded two years before has I realized the difference!

Then the last month I lived there my mower was in the shop and my neighbor had just bought a used zero turn mower with about a 60" cut. He offered to let me use it and it was a dream. What took me 5 hours to do with my mower took about 1 1/2 hours with that one! If I had stayed there I would have definitely tried to budget for one of those bad boys.
