But, your first post includes this statement, of which I agree.

"Forgiveness does not take place at repentance. It happens at baptism:

That means it cannot be avoided in the question of salvation or on the topic of forgiveness. This person is stating that they believe forgiveness happens at baptism. Acts 2:38 says that you must repent AND BE baptism in order to receive remission (forgiveness) of your sins.

That's pretty elementary and I didn't need a poll to understand that one. LOL!

Yeah, but that statement isn't mine. Someone else said that, and when that person did, the point was raised that very few would agree with that.

So I decided to see. Simple as that.

I believe that forgiveness AND salvation take place at repentance/belief. But that's not the point here.

That's fine. I agree with the statement. Don't care what the polls show. I'll stick with what I read in the Bible.

Re: When Are We Forgiven?

If forgiveness doesn't happen until baptism, what is the point of repenting before baptism?

I don't see baptism listed here. I show repentance = forgiveness. To say otherwise is a stretch.

Obviously we'll disagree on this. I don't see it as first this, then this, then this. I've seen people get the HG without first being baptized. That really throws your steps off!

Re: When Are We Forgiven?

Forgiveness may occur even before one has admitted to sin, or repented.

The Adulterous woman that was cast at Jesus' feet. "Neither do I condemn thee"

Those that crucified Jesus. "Father, forgive them"

Was Stephens prayer granted? "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge."

It is to earnestly acknowledge our sins are our own and to have a full sense of our sins and to be ready to own it. We are taking the whole blame upon ourselves and not laying them to the charge of any man or God.

In a word - acknowledgment. That is key.
