I think Keith has resigned to this mislabel.
Kind of like the Apostolics here that don't "practice" traditional holiness have resigned to calling themselves another Apostolic butchered misnomer --- CHARISMATICS.
|
Not me! I don't relate very well to what most would call charismatics. I'm Apostolic to the core.

We'll just have to wait and see...

Wow, please tell me what main stream denomination accepts universal salvation. Are you talking about a watered down gospel as well? Preach Jesus and if that leads to one-step, three-steps or a thousand steps then that is fine but lets stop adding our personal experiences to the word of God.

Further in the spirit of Jasinski and Stoneking ... occultists wouuld actually use the term "holy magic" to describe what is being proposed by these ministers ....
a. White magic is also called holy magic
b. Propenents use this term for the power behind Samson's uncut hair.

Lastly, this doctrine is being systematically taught by various ministers ...
While emegent church doctrine is taught by others ... and they are NOT the ministers or churches being targeted in this latest witch trial ... PUN INTENDED.

Umm...
all that being said,
Advocates of the doctrine never refer to it as Holy Magic Hair, and would invariably consider the label to be derisive. I think we both know that most people who use that term are opponents of the doctrine who indeed use the label in a derisive manner.
That's my point.
P.S.
I've told you before that you're spelling my name incorrectly. If you're not going to spell it right, then TR will do just fine.

"Holy Magic Hair" is just one of several such instances. (I don't agree with their doctrine at all, but the "HMH" description is clearly a derogatory label)
If you're against derogatory labeling, then be against it being used against anyone, not just people you might happen to like.

Don't think I said I was against it ... just calling a spade, a spade.
I love you despite your sacramental views on water baptism.

And Eskimos (meat-eaters) prefer being called Inuits. Such is life.

I should have said the Trinitarian mode of Universal Salvation... Oneness, Mormons, Catholics, Charismatics, Pentecostal... everybody winds up in Heaven regardless of Bible Doctrinal Truths...
I think you've already accepted it...

Yeah, but we're talking about names here, not descriptions.
(sigh... DA's tortured logic rears its ugly head once again )
Spelling someone's name right is pretty basic stuff.
I'm sure you dont want people calling you Danielle Alicea, do you?

Another haughty post. I'd hate for anyone to call me Danielle, Alicia or call you Terri?
But I'd get over it ... knowing that words can't emasculate me. Me, man.
I think we are talking about labels here ... that usually are descriptive names.
Names often are descriptions. (So much for screwy logic)
Emergent church, Terrence (sp?), is already used up ... let's find a better term ... I'll even accept "relevant" ... Holy Magic Hair is already coined too.
You gotta love the creative opportunity our labels afford us.

Jesus Christ is the way and no man will have salvation with out coming to Christ. Mormons have Joseph Smith, Charismatics have spiritualism, the Oneness have water baptism and standards, and the Catholics have a system as well. I don't care who you are and which one of these groups you are a part of but if you try to make it into the Kingdom of God without true faith in Jesus Christ and him crucified then you are a thief and a robber.
Ephesians 2:4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
