The 'saints' at the Church of God that I have been visiting know that I am "oneness" and they refer to me as "brother".
Everyone called dad ... Brother Manny/Hermano Manny.

In the south it is tradition to call the pastor by their last name. I usually call pastors by their last names unless they say something about it. It is how I was rasied.

I don't mind when people call me by my first name. When I am at my home church more call me by my first name than my last name. I don't see it as a disrespect.

There are some people that take offense to not being called by their last name.

I call Dan...Dan. He calls me...Bill. I call my pastor, Bro. Barley. Come on now, we need to get this all in order. This thing with titles is just too much.

Let us say that in the past few days, some powerful things and open doors have come about. I was attending Bro. Bourne's church, but I stepped out. I will not go into full detail about what is going on on here, but you can call me and I give you the information.

How diabolical! We should only preach revivals to Holy Ghost filled and livin right Pentecostals

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Can I get some more details on this?

Reason I ask, my boyfriend is Catholic (*shock*) and I've been to mass with him a few times (*double shock*) and I hear a lot from him otherwise. If anything, the Catholic church is even stricter about who gets to preach from their pulpits than the UPCI. My boyfriend regularly tells me about popular Catholic priests who are banned from the pulpit here in this diocese--or just about a local priest who suggests publicly that women should be ordained getting a two week suspension. (To say nothing about the guy who used to be a high muckety-muck in the diocese -- currently suspended due to pending molestation charges -- going off and starting his own praise and worship thang much to the public chagrin of the bishop....)

The other thing that makes me wonder if this was a mass or some other meeting is that I can't see TFT or any other Pentecostal preacher hardly getting started in the 10 or so minutes (maybe 15, at the absolute outside 20 minutes) alloted for the message (called a homily). I just can't. It would be *unnatural*.
