Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!

I just watched part of the History Channel's "Unwrapping Christmas". It was quite interesting how the Roman Catholic Church took the holiday of a pagan god and assigned it to the birthday of Jesus.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!

Christmas = Christ Mass = Christ's Massacre

Remember that the next time you say "Merry Christ's Massacre" to some one in its abbreviated form of: Merry Christmas.

Mass does not mean massacre.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!

I am very distraught today, my friends. I am in agony and I do not know what to do. I thought I was free from paganism and false worship when I realized something terrible. You know how we would never have a Christmas tree and we are concerned about getting presents from under it, lest we bow to the tree. Well, my friends, I realized that when I plant my garden, pick up my chilldren or pick up things off the floor that I also am bowing. I am frozen in place today. I am simply sitting in a chair and not doing anything until I figure this out. Maybe one of you men can help me. (Women CANNOT help me as we cannot teach doctrine!!) Thank you very much for your help.

Perhaps this is the beginning of a new doctrine. I just realised that as I sat at the thanksgiving table and bent my head over the plate of turkey that I was actually bowing to the turkey and all the food!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please forgive my heathen ways Lord!

Agreed.

Unfortunately, doctrines have been built on less of a misinterpretation.
