When I think of "bobbed" hair, I think the flappers of the 1920's (drastically short), but not simply "cut or trimmed" hair.
A "bob" is a woman's cut that is chin length or less. And ours was kept chin length most of the time I was growing up. My hair wasn't allowed to grow past my shoulders from about 2nd grade until college. We weren't raised in Pentecost.

Where are we in the "shift" on:
Earrings for men
Tattoos
Makeup for men
"Saggin'" or baggy pants
Piercings
Lip rings
Nose rings

Thoughts?

Tattoos - Verdict is out.
Makeup for men - Since ancient times, colonial times
"Saggin'" or baggy pants - fad
Piercings - Found in OT
Lip rings - Cultural
Nose rings - See Rebekah, Abraham gives her one

My thoughts.

While none of those describe me, you could certainly find all of those in our church.

Baron - Men's makeup?
Also, no one would have a problem with any of these on the platform?

At my church:
Earrings for men-on platform, no issue
Tattoos-who knows? most are covered by clothes, but once you have one, it's not something people will hold against a person or prevent them from leading service because of
Makeup for men-I don't ask and don't want to know
"Saggin'" or baggy pants-not an issue at my church, but it's not something that's particularly stylish in my area
Piercings-I think most look silly, but small nose piercings are not completely uncommon at my church or community, and not looked down on
Lip rings--they ruin people's teeth
Nose rings-see above--bull rings are out though, just by opinion, not standard.

We have all of these in our church, also, except for the men's makeup.
However, as people grow and progress, you see these "disappear", except for the tattoos!

You're fishing ... you sought to defend the no pants on women ... then gave a laundry list ... to try to fit what sticks.

Men wear makeup if they are going on TV ... or covering a zit.

Your paradigm is inconsistent ... the OT Church ... yes, church had body piercings. Yet, this is not your litmus test.
