We receive a bill from the Greater Cincinnati Water Works every three months, in March, June, September, and December. Our garbage pickup bill is included. On December 10, I paid $306.83 for three months worth of water service and for trash pickup. The fee for garbage pickup was $51 or $17 per month and the fee for water was $255.83 or about $85 per month (about $3 per day).

I wonder if Senators, Congress Persons and other Government drones and paper shufflers got a raise in 2010 and will get one in 2011.

It's rough on us old folks who live on the Government Dole/Welfare/ Social Security.
Yeah, my Dad has griped about that. They will have to adjust at some point, but you can be sure you'll get the short end of the stick!

Just kidding in the last paragraph but, I was disturbed. Without saying too much more, I politely hung up.
Yeah, that's what my Dad said. "No inflation??? Ha!!!"

You sir, are hilarious!!

My water/trash/sewer is combined on one bill. About $75/mo. It just went up from about $55. My dad's upset about the COLA too.

Don't move to sunny ca. Your bill is almost the same as my sewer bill which some how is higher than my water bill.I gauge inflation by the cost of a small can of tomato sauce.I could get 4 cans for a dollar. Now I get 2 cans for a dollar and when theres a sale I get 3.

Re: $5.00 a gallon gas

I noticed something odd on my water bill today... I was charged a storm water fee last month. In a state so dry creek beds caught fire. *sigh* well, maybe they're hunting for storm water and charging us a hunting fee.

Yep, as far as I know. We haven't had any "storm water" so I'm not sure what the charge was for. It was weird.

Maybe you should call and ask them what it was for. I'm curious!

On a side note, I noticed that for a while the FDIC was giving "unlimited coverage" for your money in the bank, then it went back to normal. I asked the teller about it and they had to bump the question of "Is it back to normal now?" between 4 people before they could answer the question!
