Just a side note: SM turns my stomach when he gets up and begs for money. The combination of he and PW soliciting money on TBN makes my skin crawl. Why do people humiliate themselves so?

Because they are driven by greed.
Something about them starting out loving people and using money and some where along their walk they begin to love money and use people.

Wow, that's a scary statement. Something we should all think about.

Wow--That statement is so profound and I think we've all seen the above movie way too many times. In these perilous economic times, I agree, with many of you, it's very sickening.

Re: Steve Munsey History
Money and fame are easy to go to the head! I was talking last night about a preacher that started our so sweet and kind. In fact I had always made the statement at home how I thought he was such a model pastor...last week he did something so unethical that I see fame has ruined him...
Sometimes people that become lifted up high as great preachers ruins them...I weep to see such things.

His brother Phil married a friend of mine from Bible College - Jeanie Coffey.

The Coffey family went to a church my dad pastored in Huntington Beach for a while in the 70's. Jeanie was there part of the time, I think her mother died while we there, or around that time. We stayed in touch a long time after that, in fact Phil preached my high school graduation service (back when we had a Christian School). He was my favorite preacher at the time.

Phil is still a great preacher. I enjoy listening to him.

Do Phil and Steve fellowship within the same group?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply he wasn't, I just haven't heard him in years. He used to do the Preachers Kids retreats that we had out here, and he was really good with us, I remember him helping me a lot.

I'm not really sure, I haven't really kept up with what is going on with them.
