As a Sr. Pastor, I don't expect folks to tell me if they're not going to be at church or give me an "excuse" as to why they didn't make it. They are adults and I treat them as such. I do NOT believe someone's salvation hinges upon their church attendance.

They certainly need to be there as much as they can and shouldn't miss, but for me to expect them to give me a reason they missed, IMO, is juvenile! If I treat them like children, they're bound to act like it, or go somewhere they're treated as the adults they actually are.

Here's another one:

I went out to the mail box and there was a snake in the road. Then when I went to the garage to get the car there was a frog in the garage. So I'm not going to be able to make it tonight.
