There's no lack of real sunshine where i'm at and I know lots of young conservative preachers. In fact there are a bunch of them in our church. Imagine that, young men living for God and preaching truth, winning souls and doing it without TV. I'm willing to bet our church is just as conservative or more conservative than anyones else's on this forum and we've grown 400% in three years. TV may work to bring a crowd but we're not after the crowd, we want a church.

If you really knew where I lived you would probably be shocked. But I've been all over the country.

yes, they read the Bible...

how's this, yes, I read the Bible...

I study the Bible... I study Greek and Hebrew and am called to the ministry...

And I don't see anything in the Bible that gives us a reason to preach against women wearing pants...

I see nothing in the Bible to give us a reason to ban television because of the portion of programming that is bad when some/much of it is good, and some/much of it is neutral...

I see nothing in the Bible that gives us a reason to ban piercings or tattoos...

I see nothing in the Bible that gives us a reason to outright ban makeup...

I see nothing in the Bible that gives us this super short/uncut dichotomy that we have regarding hair... I see Paul speaking of opposites/difference between genders and those aren't opposites... PLUS I don't see women who lose thier hair/have short hair wearing veils, so its not like we follow it anyways....

but, yes, keep on telling yourself anyone who disagrees with you doesn't know God and doesn't read the Bible and is just an evil evil sinner who you can just ignore...

Bro. you are wrong on this. The manual prohibits just that, a television set. However, it does not prohibit a giant LCD screen or a projector that is fed with cable or satellite hook up.

When the TV issue was passed there was no cable. I would dare say that 80 to 90% of our ministers are in violation of the manual because they have a TV set they use for a monitor.

why do you assume you can't have both???

And... everyone in the UPC is reaching people without TV, even the people who want to be able to use it....

Imagine if Jesus had wanted "a church and not a crowd"... He only had 500 following him at the end of his ministry, but he routinely preached to thousands (and possibly tens of thousands depending on what "five thousand men" meant)... But, hey, who wants to be like Jesus, right?

There is just no talking to some people. If you don't see it then what in the world do you believe. I've studied Greek as well and know many great men who have and have gleaned the opposite of what you have just stated.
