It seems that a lot of things have changed surrounding his theology, even his views on God.

This speaks for itself about him:
1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of ALL EVIL: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Okay, I think that's a tad harsh. Just because he might have got in some wrong directions, doesn't mean he wasn't in the Lord's will when he preached the messages heard on these tapes.

He had Madea lay hands on him in front of his congregation. It don't matter what he once did, but what he's doing currently. A false teacher is a false teacher, that didnt just take place over night. I turn my ear away from everyone thats a false teacher, and remember them no more. Esaias is right T.D. who? William Branham had great revival and many say he was severely blessed by God. But I'm not going to go listen to old tapes of him, to find out anything because he went the way of Balaam. And we can see from Revelations anyone who goes the way of Balaam Branham included, Jakes included, is detestable in God's sight.
So I feel the same way as God on this one.. No fluff added.

I get what everyone is saying about what Jakes is doing now. The video that's been attached with Tyler Perry laying hands on him is questionable. That's a given.
However, that still does not mean that Jakes wasn't once in the Lord's will and actually allowed the Spirit to guide and direct him. We don't know his personal walk, but we can certainly point fingers when everything isn't done exactly right, or when it's not done the way we would do it. And yes I know some of these aren't "little" things, but I digress.
Again I know everyone here is discussing Jakes' viewpoint and actions now, but I was referring to his actions prior.
Nuff said.

Prior actions matter not. Public actions reflect personal walk.
