Isn't the verse talking about taking action in willingly following the directives of someone to enter the realm?

I have no problem with the scripture you have responded with, at all. Calling Jesus Lord alone is not the entry to the kingdom. Rather faith in what Jesus did and know Him and the Father is eternal life, you do not enter into the life of the kingdom UNTIL you get it in your head, heart and spirit, that the work is FINISHED by Him. Just because someone is not at that point does not mean that that one WILL NOT get there and enter in.
