I have not followed the journey they have taken other than I know that their pastor took another road and they may have been a bit disillusioned by it all. I assure you that all of my experiences with them were very positive and very anointed!

Went to their meeting in Richardson, TX, at a UPC church, about 7-8 years ago, from all observation they still have the same Spirit about them. It was loud and my teenagers loved them. I now prefer quiet and sweet. The group had changed some members, but still very worshipful, glorifying of God.
Were you in Plano when AM had them in the school auditorium? That was quite an eye opening experience, my very conservative dad, much to my surprise spoke well of them. Their pastor was still traveling with them at that time.

The church [I will not say the denomination] was one of the few churches that promote family values and return to Biblical truths and advertise heavily through all media types. My thoughts were that if any visitors were from that denomination they would be offended and NEVER saved because of one man's ignorance.
The second thing he preached in the same sermon was that a 16 year old girl got up during a service to go to the restroom and that she was abducted from the church foyer, taken behind the church and raped. He blamed her for wearing a slit in her skirt and used it as a jumping off point for rigid dress standards. This also I thought to be an ignorant statement because we all know that if lust is in the heart of a person that nothing a person wears or doesn't wear instigates his predatory mind.
I have purposed in my heart never to sit through another ignorant sermon, such as was preached by this ignorant man, no matter what his name or rank...
Blessings, Rhoni

I try to do like RD suggested and avoid such settings. I believe I would have to walk out on that one.

I've sat through a few sermons while cringing and wanting to leave, but I'm just too polite. I have left momentarily when the music was too loud; I don't consider that walking out of a service, though.

I didn't think it was too extreme; I was responding to Jekyll's critical statement.

More than I should have, I'm sure.
I have walked out of the service a couple of times while visiting churches for the first time after a long distance relocation. Usually because something seemed "off."
I walked out of my present church on a Wednesday evening. I was unaware that we were having a song service instead of bible study. The visiting musical "ministers" were lip-synching. They went on and on, and they were awful. I probably was there for 3/4 of it. I looked at my wife, she looked at me, and we agreed enough was enough. We's gonna grab the kids and scoot, I get up at 5 am, ya'll.
I walked out of a church that I was a fairly long term member of when a "special" altar call was made during the middle of the service. Some context is necessary. A local girl had gone missing. A massive manhunt ensued. We prayed and fasted and contributed to fundraisers. Weeks later, her body was found. Her rapist/murderer confessed that he did it because she had inadvertently stumbled across his meth lab. I don't know why, but these events caused fear to grip my pastor and he wanted to have an altar call wherein we would pray for certain specific protections. The Holy Ghost told my wife and I simultaneously to get out NOW. We grabbed the kids and scooted.
I pray for this sort of protection for my family every day. My daughter is too young to receive an explanation that this sort of evil exists. The God I serve can protect her and us without a special altar call wherein she learns what evils specifically she may now develop fears of.

Ohio Camps are notorious for half the crowd loitering outside during the preaching. I've been to many district camps where you couldn't hear the preaching in the back because of the chatter on campus. What's sickening is the some of the most serious offenders 10-15 years ago are now running the show today...
