They did?
Weird. Why don't they read their bibles?
THE TRUTH IS RIGHT IN THAT BOOK!
Why "vote" to decide on the Word of God?
What else are they voting on?
The resurrection?
The issue is that among any religious body that takes the Bible seriously... all agree that the Bible is the Word of God and is inerrant. However, our interpretations of that word are often errant. So learned men come together to discuss interpretations of Scripture and vote to officially take a position. That's all.
Honestly, every one of us believes the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God. However, we've all reviewed various interpretations of that Word and determined in our hearts what sounds most appropriate given our understanding.

I'm sure the point was to make a statement. Since the issue is apparently a "gray" area to some.
Look at this thread. Someone new reading all of this could easily get the wrong impression.

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
That's an excellent testimony. Do you believe some might need medication to contend with their specific issue?
The short answer: Yes.
The long answer: There appears to be more than one cause of depression, with the biological cause being a common one. There are medicines which can help with this. That is not to say medicine is or should be the only treatment.
Because humans are spirit, soul and body (1Thes 5:23), when we are negatively impacted in one area (the body), it can affect our entire being, including being negatively impacted on a spiritual level. Conversely, being strengthened in the "spiritual man" and in our faith can have a positive impact on our entire being, including our body.
Also, I have come across more and more studies which seem to suggest that the brain chemicals which are released from engaging in a regular exercise routine contribute to a feeling of well being, and is sometimes even being prescribed as part of an overall treatment program for depression.
Dave don't some studies suggest that depression causes physical problems, among them pain?

"Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" last night told us of a man who had his hippocampus removed when he was 27, and from then on he was completely incapable of forming new memories. Frozen at age 27, in his mind, forever. Decades later, he never recognizes the old man in the mirror.
So, if this man wasn't saved before the surgery, can he ever be saved? And will it "stick"? If he was saved at the time of the surgery, is this a genuine case of Once Saved Always Saved?

(Oops. Forgot what thread this was in. I said I was leaving a while back, but I guess this is kind of a side-track anyway. )

These questions are above my pay grade.
I say we preach the gospel to all, and let God sort 'em out!
