Would you mind explaining what "foolishness" you meant, then? I drew the wrong conclusion, apparently:
The foolishness is accusing people of not being Spirit filled although they fulfill the characteristics described in the bible. Even aside from that, I may doubt they have the Spirit but would not outrightly state it as though I knew for sure for fear of blasphemy due to any narrow mindedness I might have. Why do people have to say they just KNOW someone does not have the Spirit? What business is it of ours?

Uh. OK. So I was missing the part about fulfilling the characteristics. Sorry.
So. Anyway. Is blaspheming the Holy Ghost unforgivable?

31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

There ya go. And now, I'm entirely confused about what you think I'm confused about.
Haha. Oh my.
Let me put it this way. Nobody should challenge anyone that they do not have the Holy Ghost if they claim they do. We can THINK IN OUR OWN OPINION they do not, but always remain open they very well may have it, and that we may be wrong. Since Jesus said blasphemy against the Spirit is unforgivable, I stay away from any concrete declaration that someone does not have the real Spirit of God.
When someone has the characteristics of the Spirit, it is especially unwise to say they do not have it due to faith in some false doctrine. I think trinity teaching is error. But it does not mean someone who believes trinity and claims to have the Holy Ghost does not have the Holy Ghost. in fact, the Holy Ghost came to lead us to all truth since we obviously do not have all truth when we receive the Spirit. If people had to believe all the details of every true doctrine there is in order to have the genuine Spirit of God, it would not come to lead us to all truth as the bible says it has come to do.

Still not sure what I got wrong about what you've said, but that's fine. I do that a lot.

I already told you: "You think it's foolish to give opinions on someone's claim to have the Holy Ghost?" You made it sound like I believe no one should ever question anyone's claim to having the Spirit. I never said that. I said that if the person has the characteristics of the Spirit that the bible relates to us, then we should not demand they do not have the Spirit due to some other aberrant detail of doctrine they might hold.

Right, I had forgotten about that part, and fixed it in my next post. So, we're cool? Was that the only thing I misunderstood?
