Re: Easily Offended

LOL! Good thread!

As an Admin Team Member I've ALWAYS wondered why it was always the more Conservative posters that were offended whenever a warning or infraction was handed out.

Most of our Liberal posters take warnings and infractions in stride with either an apology in return or a 'I will do better' attitude.

Most of our Conservative members get offended and leave in a huff!

I just don't get it?!?

Again, as it has already been mentioned, the more conservative among us, from a pure dogma sense, are simple not used to being challenged. The threat of rebellion as the ultimate sin as kept the masses in line and the phrase "obey them" is a catch all which superseded anything that is extra-scriptural. In other words, it may not be scriptural but if the "man of God" says it then we are to do it anyways lest we fall into "rebellion". In the online world, those threats are revealed for the smoke and mirrors they are and suddenly they are left with no authority.

AS for those who leave and STAY gone, at least for a good amount of time, I have more respect for them then those who announce they are leaving then proceed to bask in the praise of those who try to convince them to stay.

An example: (And it helps to imagine William Shatner/Kirk's voice)
"Please! Don't leave! We are..... stronger with you.... then..... without you!"

Probably not all ultra Cons are that way

maybe because they just don't think they could possibly be wrong about something?

No sir... You are, at the time of this posting, at 6,677 and by pulling up all your posts there have been 11 additional posts since the 6,666th post.

All seems well in the post count.

The very mindset of an ultra-conservative is that they have perfected religion. Any challenge is considered an insult or rebellion against their perfection. This leads to close-mindedness unless some event creates an epiphany.

I look at it like this if I come stating something and most disagree with my view I will look it over again cause that tells me something if I state something and most disagree with it...

I completely disagree.

If I wasn't right I wouldn't have said it to start with.
