MikeinAR and Light is this something you could agree with? After all, it seems we need to fix the hemorrhage and worry about the non-life threatening matters later. The Country did survive Misters Bush and Cheny. I hope we can make it through Mister Obama and Company!

I wasn't addressing the Cole. I actually agree with you Esther (stop the presses!!) that Clinton should have dealt more severely with Yemen and al-qaeda over the Cole incident.

In my post, however, I was addressing the Clinton policy on Iraq. Clinton's and GHWB's Iraq policy insured that Iraq didn't have WMD. That's a fact of history now. GWB on the other hand guided us into a needless quagmire that history will judge harshly, IMO.

I want our country safe as well, but I also think it's reprehensible that 4500+ for a war that didn't do a thing to make this country safer.

We helped al-qaeda spread to a country that it didn't inhabit. How is that making us safer?

We can always agree on less corruption and lying in gov't REV.

I'm more and more convinced that the political system may be irretrievably broken as sad as that is. The way a person has to be elected in this country is the problem and that's for D's and R's. When it takes millions upon millions for President and hundreds of thousands for Congress, the system is corrupt.

Too many promises are made and basically every person in office is owned by special interests. I think the problem is really complex and hard to fix.

I do think that IF the law was broken by people in the Bush administration regarding the torture issue, it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The law should be the law regardless of who broke it. I hope you can agree with me on that.

I find nothing in your post to disagree with. I just don't want prosecutions of the previous administration to be used as political attacks and smoke screens for bad goings on in the present.
