It was obvious he had an agenda.

We're kinda off the original topic here but let's say you can become a level three welder in less than 5 years. However, it will not have cost you $40,000 + that a masters in architecture would. And most architects are starting out in entry level positions at firms not making $56K.

And it seems by this statement that you are "basically saying" anyone that did go to Bible College has thrown their life away. I think I know several folks that would strongly disagree with you.

I do disagree with the comment concerning a GED. And I will be the first to say that Bible College is not for everyone.

I think bible college serves a very narrow purpose.

1 Finding a mate. (I'm very serious)
2. Garnering political connections

If someone wants to attend bible college, IMO they should do so after they have a real education and a skill. I see so many kids go to bc right out of high school. They lose scholarship opportunites and spend thousands on an unaccredited "education".

This is exactly what the preacher was advocating.

Bible college is the greatest regret of my life. I would have been better served to get an accredited degree that could have helped me financially as a church planter.

I realize I am very, very biased.

I think finding a mate is a very good thing. Better at Bible School then a secular college.

I agree totally with your last statement.

I would also be the anti-thesis to your statement, IMO. Although I have had to work secular jobs at times, I have always been blessed to continually move forward on the pay scale. Some 23 years after graduating from BC I have never had one regret about not attending secular college.

I also realize I am very, very biased.

Then bible college becomes nothing more than a very expensive dating service, which is fine. But don't confuse this with education.

Do you think this preacher should have reprimanded parents for wanting their kids to attend secular college over a nonaccredited bc?

I don't think its any of his business.

And imagine what kind of welder your daughter will find at BC compared to the Architect at the secular school....
