Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Get out of debt, as much as possible. We only have mortgage debt, so I'm going to ferociously attack it this year, especially if we sell the property that I'd like to sell. I will pay that chunk on my house and then not owe much at all!

Lose 30-40 pounds!! I have let myself go and I hate it. I have never been this heavy. I need to exercise. I have a gym membership that I pay every month, but I haven't been for about six months!

Try to get more organized and cook more. I love to cook, but I love to cook really good rich foods and desserts, which had led to problem number two above.

LOL!!! Me, too, Sherri. Nearly everything I cook lately seems like it has butter or cream or bacon in it--like Paula Dean--"You start with a stick of buttah." Buttah is right!!!!

I have made in the past week, Chicken Kiev (with gobs of real butter and swiss cheese), Lasagna, and Beef Stroganoff. When my kids are home, I try to make all their favorites. Plus I've made pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, truffles, and lemon ice box pie. I don't even want to think about how much I weigh.

No, there's no one who can take my place at this time--that's what made it a hard decision. I'm still available to sing/play on Sunday mornings. Just not for scheduling/teaching new music/Thursday night practices for awhile.

If I get my schedule to a reasonable place in say, 6 months or so, I'll pick it back up. For now the plan is to step away for a year.

Jeff sat down with me a few weeks ago and basically said, "Okay, you've got too many commitments. Pick one and take a break from everything else." LOL!!! My pastor is alright with it--he knows I'm really frazzled to the max at the moment. Well, I don't know that he's "alright" with it--but he's aware that I've been quickly approaching total burnout this past year. I didn't even take a break from the music dept. after Jeffrey was born, except for the first month after he came home.

ONLY the choir and ensemble?? Do they sing every sunday or just occasionally? If they sing every sunday, that will leave a big hole in your services. Do you work an outside job ?
