LOL!!! Yup. He is quite the expert at getting married. It is just staying married that seems to elude him.
What is even more amazing is that his sons worship the ground he walks on and believe he is blameless in all four marriages.
When I was a teenager he was a pretty famous UPC pastor with a fast growing church. He preached the first or second Louisiana Sr. Youth Camp I had ever been to. Even though he was UPC he would have made you AMFers proud back then.
This was back around 1973 or 1974 when one of the big issues was hair on men. The style of the day was to have hair over the ears and in old time Pentecost that was a no no.
This guy preached to us teens that if we had a guy in our church who had hair over his ears and wouldn't cut it that we should take him out behind the toolshed and beat him up and cut it for him. He was serious and not kidding.
That was really probably the beginning of the end for me and the UPC although it didn't hapen for another 10 years.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
