P.S. My daughter accused me of letting my granddaughters get away with more than I let her get away with.

My thoughts...she is probably right but I wanted her to grow up and be a good mother and train her children right as I spoil them and give them back

Bravo to you two! That's the way grandparents should be!

It's funny...for my children they have one grandparent that will buy them ice cream and soda and such... Then they have another one that went to buy them a snack and came home with cheese sticks!(not the deep fried ones) LOL Which grandparent do you think they want snacks from? LOL

This week I have heard it told to me...I don't understand why so in so who has done such and such always has and is blessed...while I who have always kept my integrity and done things right have so many issues...[paraphrased].

I have been praying for this person because they remind me of the older son of the Prodigal who, when Dad was celebrating the return of the younger son and granting him forgiveness, was bellyaching and complaining that he had always been there and done right but the Father had not thrown him a party.

We have many threads about who we could and would not use in our churches, or who we should not use...but how typical of us self-righteous Pharisees whom God has forgiven so much to even think we are so much better than some of these others...and I am preaching to myself here.

Blessings, Rhoni

Romans 2:1
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things!

Re: Are you more hard on others or yourself?

I find that the more judgemental I am toward myself the more judgemental I become of others.

The more I lighten up on myself and claim the grace and mercies of God the more grace and mercy I extend toward others.

Blessings, Rhoni

We have a similar situation, however both grandmas live on the opposite coast, so when we visit, they both spoil my kids incredibly! One takes them shopping and buys them useless nonsense, and the other will sit and play games with them for hours (however the one who plays games jacks 'em up with sugary snacks and soda, while the shopping one generally is more health conscious)... can't win either way!!!

But really they both love my kids so much, and I am thankful to have both of them in their lives and mine!
