Evidently, we are to empower the government with the power to spend the money to prosecute and execute citizens, but not to run a food stamp program for the elderly and single parents.
I have been told that the way a person spends their money reveals the kind of person an individual is. The same can be said of a nation.

No. As a matter of fact I do not endorse the death penalty.
For the very reasons you list.
However, I believe that it is within the governments rights to sentence someone to death. And by rights, I mean given by God.
And it's not my homework, you are the one that made the claim.

Really?
And the other one, his wife said that he confessed to her that he did it before his execution.
Now whether she is believable or not is debatable, but I think that throws that one back to disputed.

And thank God for the Gospel. However, are you saying that government should no longer punish evil? Surely you aren't advocating that government should not prosecute crime?
I haven't read the book you quoted from, but you did say it was liberal propaganda, I believe? So, it is going to paint Christian society in the worst light possible.

This false church is going to start blending with all the churches of the world. Islam, Buddhists, and yes the Jews. Even helping build a temple wouldn't seem out of place. I know the pope was against it. But there will be a shift.
