David, I can't recall if the issue was settled about GZ saying, in the Hannity interview, that he was not familiar with SYG. Did the Defense cover that as the Pros is setting up the scenario of GZ being a liar.

I don't recall the Pros going much after the SYG statement made on Hannity.

Earlier today we had two professors from GZ's college testify on the courses he took.

The first one is a military JAG officer. His testimony was great, because the defense was able to discuss pre and post SYG law. The Pros objected several times, but because the man taught about law in the class, the Def was able to continue. You should find that testimony. IMO, it blew up on the Pros. Especially the part where the Def stated one wouldn't have to wait until they were severely injured or almost dead to defend themselves with deadly force; the wit said he wouldn't recommend that. The wit also stated that the presence or absence of injury does not preclude someone from using deadly force if they believe their life is being threatened.

The second wit was via Skype at first, then had to be done via cell phone because of people finding the professors name and calling him during the testimony. This, too, was a win for the defense, IMO. The Pros asked about the course he instructed and subjects given; Def was able to have the wit state that several of the subjects weren't even taught. Key part was that just because a course lists multiple subjects, it does not mean the course will cover each and every subject.

I thought the Pros was going to push that because GZ was in those classes, he learned both how to arrange evidence and be prepared for the interrogations by the police. If that's what they tried doing, they failed miserably.

I haven't been continuously following this current DNA witness. Have they brought up the rain possibility as an interference?

Lot of people on Twitter still claiming that TM's mother will be taking the stand today. I'm highly skeptical. Pros said they should be done today. It's almost 3pm at the courthouse, they've gone as late as 6pm before. The Pros is still on direct with the DNA guy. I'm sure they'll take a 15 minute break in the next hour or two. You have to think cross by O'mara or West will take at least as long as direct has been.

With the testimony of Rachel Jeantel, West already told the Judge there were new issues and questions for Crump, I would have to believe there would also be issues for TM's mom. And 2 hours, at best, is barely enough time for direct examination, much less including a strong cross.

Unless the Judge plans to completely limit cross to the name of the wit and ask if she's his mother. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if this Judge tries to inject herself and limit cross.

Yes, it is a brain drain and must be all over the net. No one is commenting on it yet. lol

O'Mara usually makes sense out of everything, so I am waiting to hear him. I would rather listen to O'Mara than West, but West goes into great detail and if you wait, he will get all points covered.

I don't remember what he said. I read a comment that it just proved TM inflicted some real damage in order for that to be the case.

What's your take?
