How many times are you going to bring this up? Yes, I have spoken to Mr. Smith on the phone. We discussed some issues concerning grace and salvation and the UPC.
I really like Mr. Smith as a person, I think he's caring and kind. I don't have anything bad to say about him as a person. I do consider him a friend, and hope he does the same to me.
I do not at all agree with his posistion in this thread and a few other threads we have had. I do think sometimes his posts come across as arrogant, condescending, and self righteous. In the conversations I've had with im in other settings He has never come across this way.
I don't have bad to say about Mr. Smith as I person. I WHOLLY 100% disagree with some of his actions we've discussed in this thread, and even though Mr. SMith is not a promoter of sin, and if I said He was I apologize.
I do think that from the viewpoint of the sinner, his actions could easily be seen as an approval, or at least a making light of the seriousness of the sinful lifestyle they have chosen.
I carry that last sentiment to those who all those in this thread who are in favor of gays openly being able to serve in the military, which will lead to more and more acceptance of their lifestyle, not only in culture, but in the church. I think it is terrible gullible to not distinguish the two. But that doesn't make you men my enemies.
