Ahh, the old false idea of clergy and laity. You could be onto something.

Alas, time constraints may prohibit me from earning your high and lofty praise (even though I sincerely crave your approval).

Ahh .. yes ... THE PRIESTHOOD OF ALL SAINTS. I am a strong advocate.
Does this negate the usage of terms like Elder?

Yes and No. Yes, in the sense that others use the term to make that distinction, but no, in the sense that there truly are elders. But what is it with this biblical terminology from 1611 all the time? And this Hebraic naming of Jesus and God??? Religious and proud.

The real issue is in the way titles are employed in the twenty-first century church. Ministry should definitely be held in high esteem, but not revered, and even feared, in an unhealthy way. The desire to drive a wedge between those anointed to serve and the beneficiaries of that service is regrettable and, at times, perverted.
Some may read the the last paragraph as an attempt to marginalize the pulpit. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe the bible teaches that the man of God should be an approachable gatherer of souls.
