You're just trying to keep from sharing some of that change with me. I know.

They don't believe its necessary for salvation.

Salvation suppoosedly comes at repentance now, which leads me to ask why Peter went on to add the legalistic requirement of baptism, and OH MY WORD he even added methodology to baptism.

No wiggle room Daniel. You either believe it as written, and preach it as written or quit saying you believe it with disclaimers.

I agree!
The Acts 2:38 message is a no brainer for me.

But they believe it IS necessary/essential and the people in their churches are repenting, getting baptized in Jesus name and receiving the Holy Ghost, just as they are in ours, just as they are in yours.

This is what I always get a little amused about is the fact that many of the people who you say don't believe this is necessary for salvation are getting the exact same results you are and others who believe like you do. Maybe even more and greater results and more numbers of people who are repenting, being baptized in Jesus name and receiving the Holy Ghost infilling evidenced by speaking in tongues.

Like Anthony Mangun always said and still says today....... the emphasis is........

You don't GOT to get the Holy Ghost. You GET to get the Holy Ghost.

And that's pretty much what Peter was saying ..... ye SHALL receive. It's a PROMISE and a FACT.

Exactly! Acts 2:38 is commandment..whether you are ultra con, lib, con , baptist, charismatic, or agnostic....I don't care what you are. You have to buy the whole thing. Repentence, Jesus' name baptism, and HolyGhost in tongues! There is no other way. It has nothing to do with how conservative you are!

We don't have to buy anything. Jesus Christ already did the buying! We just have to obey and receive!
