Re: More on Skirts
Thank you for explaining the situation. I have seen in times past where this would have happened about preaching on the pants and etc right off. Jesus said if He would be lifted up, He would draw all men to Him. I believe the Word. Thank you again.

I will tell you what led up to the young Calvary Chapelist wanting to save the day. He brought up Deuteronomy 22:5 because he noticed how some of the ladies were dressed. When he focused in a young sister who was sitting between the two tattooed women. The two tattooed girls turned to look at the young sister who was being zoned in on. They wanted to see her reply, but the young defender of his faith didn't wait, he dropped shields and fired full photon torpedos, the young sister was bewildered, and it showed. It wasn't that she couldn't give a clear intelligent answer, she most certainly was able, but that she wasn't allowed. The one tattooed girl at seeing this, her eyes rolled over white, she and her friend then calmly launched their questions. The young man with "the Bible says it, I believe it, and that settles it!, " shirt, started to sink, his shields were greatly damaged, Scotty couldn't get him anymore power, and the ship was breaking up. As the two tattooed females gently circled in for the kill. That's when I took my chance to explain my thoughts on the subject. Also to bring the Bible study back down to earth. I'm not into allowing a Bible study to become Gladiator school.

The pants should be part of the discussion right off. Otherwise it's bait and switch and you aren't really letting anyone "count the cost".

Most religions and groups don't stand at the doors of their meeting places with a to do list. They teach their neophytes how "they" do it. From ILGs of the world to the Emma Boastranglers all have their certain views, beliefs, to do list. But they go about relaying that information differently. When I get an opportunity i'll visit certain groups, most if not all try to work on the potential customer the minute they're done with their preaching, lecture, or 20 minute dance routine. It is a plea of a return visit, or for you to share a meal, or come back for the second act. In short, they just want you to join. It isn't mentioned, but that is the main focus. One group who I knew a member, had their leader ask me why I don't have a beard? I asked him why should I have a beard? He then said "so you can look like Jesus?" I replied "you mean a Middle Eastern black man?" The guy almost fell out. The groups' men all wear beards, and wear kipas, they call Jesus, Yaseaihyah. Their women wear hoods, not upside down Chinese take out boxes like Emma, but hoods. They look like Grim Reapers. But when you visit these jokers they don't meet you with a laundry list. You hang around them long enough you will "get the message." My buddy who is a Branhamite, never came out and read me the instructions on how to fly with Willie. As time went by and we built a relationship he shared all that was on his mind. But you know what the phenomenon of that is? What I believed was in one ear and quickly flew out the other. He always speaks to me like I believe William Marion Branham is Superman. Don't get me wrong I constantly remind him what I believe, but he like others who have the "Stepford Wives" glow, and "Charlie Manson eyes" let the new information fall to the ground and trample it under foot.
So, if you walk up and say we believe women don't wear pants.
They say, what about having to build a parapet around your roof?
You got you a parapet Brother B?
Huh?
Then move on to start praying for me in their make believe Hebrew.

I think that's what the scripture is addressing...dressing in drag/cross dressing..

I think this type of dressing is what the scripture is referring to. My opinion.

My Harry Morse biography is not a theological book, but I have yet to find any documentation about Dt. 22:5 connected with the man or his school in any way.
But, the main part of the book is dated prior to WW2. Did this doctrine become more promenade after the war ?
Not looking for a theological debate. Just thinking about the history of this doctrine in the USA.

It's definitely not exclusive to Pentecostalism. Anabaptists and other holiness groups also practice it.

That's because in those days, women really didn't wear pants. Women who wore them were often making a statement. They didn't make pants for women then so no good women would have worn pants for daily wear. Cultures change though....

I have no problem with people choosing to wear skirts over pants to honor Deut 22:5 as long as they don't twist that scripture to say if you don't agree with their opinion of expression that you are an abomination to God and going to hell. Different strokes for different folks. Those who claim others with different opinions are going to hell are legalists...those who are happy to practice their lifestyle (however they choose) without condemning others are practicing what they believe with my respect.
