In the old time Pentecost I was raised in the idea was that God blessed, healed, delivered, etc pretty much 100% of the time in atmospheres of intense emotional, loud, boistrous worship. My point is that my life experience has shown me that I see an equal number of blessings, healings, etc in churches that don't engage in that and I believe it is because God doesn't need a bunch of people screaming and jumping up and down for him to operate or hear prayers.

If we talk about something that is interesting to people, it gets their attention and trust - your example of the guns. I admire that you can confess your weaknesses. Many are too much of a coward to confess anything and rather make excuses instead. You admitted that you're a reserved person, and perhaps that's been your downfall.

You want to know something? Many years ago I was at the grocery store and saw this elderly lady walking in front of the store. For some reason I just stood there and watched her, and I really can't explain what I felt when watching her.

As I drove away from the parking lot, I thought about how I might have been the only opportunity for that elderly lady to be saved, and yet I blew it. That situation weighed on me for a while. (sigh)

I'm also a reserved person and know exactly how you feel. Sometimes we must step out of out comfort zone no matter how odd it feels. As we continue doing that, the odd feeling will begin to fade away.

I would hope so, since the church is the body, and in spirit we must walk. The more spiritual the better.

You will never become so spiritual that you have no need for submission and respect toward God ordained ministry. God will not use anyone to usurp and bypass the authority he has placed in the Church. If you really want to be used by God...learn to work within the confines of submission and stop blatantly disrespecting the man of God in your life.

I never stated that I didn't need to submit to anyone. I can submit and still have an opinion. I don't worship "men of god," though I respect them. You're telling me ordained men of god can never be wrong? Do you recall Eli? I always have found it interesting the God over-looked Eli to speak directly to Samuel as a child. It kind of makes you think, having a title in church doesn't really make you a man of god. Just ask Eli the priest!
