a fabulous personal standard, i agree. Unfortunately, generations of church hypocrisy has caused seekers to be blinded to the message. We simply are not in the same climate as Peter's early Church. You seem to imply that God will judge or condemn according to this, when that is not true--that only describes Pentecostals; God judges one's heart.

So really, i guess i have no comment for you guys here--but if i did, it might be to suggest you reinterpret your interpretation, or risk the Kingdom being taken from you and given to a nation that will produce the fruits of It. Trust that God will not care if they focus on some other verse, if they produce fruit. I mean this in a corporate sense, of course; for the Pentecostal movement, but of course you might be the last Pent church on earth, and if you are producing fruit, you will flourish. Your borders are either increasing, static, or decreasing, and these are indicators, i guess.

No worries from you blume. None of us are sending you ten bucks by paypal therefore have no fear of you taking any action.

Jesus also provided a formula for salvation. Remember the "what must I do" question? His description of what it takes to be saved was not accumulating ten dollar bills at His expense.

We are getting a little below the belt with some of these posts. We shouldn't be making comments against people's character. We should stick to the issues. This thread should probably be deleted because it is useless.

I believe that I am accountable for Acts 2: 38, only because by the grace of God, I have been shown that light. But at the last trumpet, there are three classes of people receiving reward from my Lord. His servants the prophets. The saints. Those that fear his name, small and great. Hard to fit all of those in our Acts 2:38 box.

Many proponents probably have their relatives and special friends in mind when favoring this doctrine. It is a compassionate heart that hopes there will be some way that God will not require John 3:5 or Acts 2:38 or Hebrews 12:14 to get to heaven...

i do--what i disbelieve is a man's ability to fully understand these verses. We mostly accept the first interpretation by someone we trust as Gospel, and then shut down to any expanded understanding, spending the rest of our lives imagining that we are defending God or something, in our insistence on our narrow little interp, imo.

Compassion is good, but not when it is misguided.
