Re: Allah and other languages words for GOD
amen! the Qur'an also recognizes this concept. I would say to beware how literally one decides on "Name of Jesus" here, as there are pitfalls to that view (danger; loaded statement), but i wholeheartedly agree to the concept. It is salvation for all, first the Jew, then the Gentile, yup

Re: Allah and other languages words for GOD
in Its own Words, yes. I believe it is most explicitly stated in The Heifer. "Follow the example of Christ, or be doomed" or something similar.

Wouldn't that be in direct contradiction to following the example of Mo? He was hardly Christ-like.

Re: Allah and other languages words for GOD
hmm, you're asking the wrong guy in a sense, as i am not a scholar, and the question is obviously pretty loaded for us, in this time; we hear all the things that we might condemn Mohammed (pbuh) with, which is pretty easy, being from a different culture; but we rarely hear the testimony from his peers to the effect that he never seemed to lose his patience with his flock, etc...and perhaps the right guy, in another sense, as i have lived among Muslims, and have seen Christ reflected in them.
They are just people--a pretty oppressed people at the moment--and have wheat as well as tares, too. I think what Scripture says about Ishmael--that he will be great, and is meant to contend with us, because of our sin--may be applied to them; although this is contested, i guess.
So, one will find what they seek, and this will define their heart to God, for judgement; which is most likely the point.

Re: Allah and other languages words for GOD
I don't think it's wrong to call God, Allah. But I'm not a Muslim, so I don't.

Interesting that the closest word that we have in the Bible to Allah is Lucifer?
Hmmmmmmmmm

Agreed Jito! Mo manifest the worldly kingdom and Christ God's kingdom. The world responds as the world, with violence which just causes more violence. The Kingdom of God responds and acts in love and mercy.

Re: Allah and other languages words for GOD
American Standard Version
The law and the prophets were until John: from that time the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and every man entereth violently into it.
i would say that we lack the cultural context to judge Mohammed (pbuh).
