I don't wish to attribute the following quote, as it is quite common, but you might consider these two quotes for any relevance they might have to each other:

"Since 1978 I have not had a job where I could chose to work or not work weekends. They would never hire people who told them they would not work weekends. Where I work now we work rotating days off. I get one weekend off per month."

"...the mark in their hand (what they do) or their forehead (what they think). And no one could buy or sell unless they have this mark..."

This was personally brought home to me when I refused to work Saturdays, for any amount of money, which of course I immediately started getting offers that no "sane" person would refuse...

NO ONE obeys the law completely and never has. Which was the reason for blood sacrifices in the OT and also the REASON Jesus came. We must attempt to obey the commandments and if we fail we must repent. I have myself been guilty of coveting, gossip (false witness), anger (murder) and a multitude of others breeches of the law, I'm sure. I confess my sin and God is faithful to forgive me... Isn't that cool? Fear of failure to be able to keep the commandments is really no reason not to try!

Interesting to see this thread as I have been meditating on this very subject.

Reading the 10 commandments there was more instructions given to keeping the sabbath than any of the other commandments.

Has anyone wondered why?

The issue of whether Gentiles must obey the law of Moses was settled in the first century New Testament Church.

Hear the words of the Apostle Yacob (James).

Acts 21:25

25 As touching the Gentiles which believe , we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

Since James does NOT include Sabbath keeping I dont do it. If he HAD then I would have no choice in the matter.

It seems to me here that the Law is fulfilled, and not abolished? After all, James was merely stating observations there; doesn't seem to rise to the level of Commandment...

It was not an observation that the Gentiles were not bound to Moses law. James said it was A CONCLUSION.

James didn't list Sabbath keeping because it wasn't an issue of debate. You find Paul and others, including Gentiles gathering on the Sabbath throughout the book of Acts. Not once do they gather corporately on Sunday.

Methods of Sabbath keeping in the Law of Moses don't apply. The Sabbath itself however, is in the Law of God.
