Question:What's the difference between a Catholic wedding and a Catholic funeral?

Answer: There is one less drunk at a Catholic funeral.


Some clever person could probably come up with a similar joke about an Apostolic funeral.

Totally not necessary ...

At my great-grandfather's funeral, the pastor of the church preached a hellfire and brimstone message with lots of yelling at the unsaved. Funny thing is, the church was a small, backwoods, rural Baptist church in Kentucky, not Pentecostal.

I will be ministering at a funeral in a couple of hours and will NOT be screaming, yelling or threatening anyone with eternal flames and judgement. I WILL be talking about how we need to surrender our lives to Jesus Christ and that we don't know the day and hour or our demise.

There is such a thing as respect, I believe.
