It just isn't scriptural. God is the Father. Yes. He is also Abba Father (aka 'daddy God' which really is "daddy father" is they wanted to be literal). Certainly doesn't appeal to a man, and that isn't the most accurate translation from the Greek either.

I'm sure background has some to do with it, but it's just a goofy and shows a perspective of the godhead that I don't agree with. Father God, we just...

It's a great sermon on idolatry, though.

Yep, it's me. No, I've never met a trinitarian who believes in three Gods. Now, we'll ACCUSE them of it, but they don't.

I can handle "Father God" although I never use it. But the "Daddy" stuff irritates the heck outta me. It just feels disrespectful. I guess it's one of those "To each their own" deals.

I'm not crazy about "Heavenly Father" either. Not sure why.

I enjoy hearing all the different ways people open their prayers. It gets funny sometimes. It's like a lot of people are in a competition to see who can get God to turn His head the quickest.

"Our most gracious Heavenly Father who reigns over all the earth...we approach thee this majestic day that is witness to thy great glory...."

Please.

I have...more than one. Who's right? I know there are some who believe in one God; there are also PLENTY who believe in three distinct deities who WORK and co-exist in unity.

My FIL is one of the most adamant I've ever known--he and my husband have argued before about the idea that there will be three thrones in heaven, with God the Father on one, God the Son on the second, and the Holy Spirit on the third.

Fine, but do THEY say, quote, "I believe in three distinct Gods"?

I don't recall the exact phrasing, notofworks, but I'm not a stupid woman, and I understand what people are saying and what they mean.

I know trinitarians who SAY they believe in one God, but yet they continue to make distinctions verbally; I believe they THINK they believe in one God, but don't understand the godhead well enough to articulate their views. There are those who DO believe in one God, but don't feel it's a big enough deal to quibble over. And there are those who DO believe three distinct Gods.

There are people who claim to be oneness, but actually believe in 2 Gods. Ever met any of them?

Ok, so we're right back where we started. YOU may say they believe in three Gods, but THEY don't say that which goes right back to my original statement....I've never met a trinitarian who believes in three Gods.

No one said you're stupid and I doubt you are. But if you're gonna refuse to let them believe in one God, you might be a bit stubborn!

They may say they believe in one God but conceptually they are worshipping three who are God. Each is God individually. This amounts to three Gods whether they are of the same substance or of different substances.
