But you are asking questions rather than just forming an opinion and walking away... much better.

In a scenario like this one... when all is said and done... he might have more cash than the day they detained him.

LOTS more cash.

Many minutes of tape were missing. His carryon was x-rayed? He may have worn a Ron Paul button or two. Remember Missouri had a bulletin floating around seeking out radicals with Ron Paul bumper stickers.
since he was at a meeting for freedom Watch, they may have been expecting this and carried phones that were ready to record. He admitted they saw him carrying Ron Paul bumper stickers and campaign for liberty stickers.
It doesn't matter whether they were recording him or not - he can't present a recording in a court of law unless he has allowed the people involved with him to know that he is recording their conversation.

Now, that is a grand and expected possibility!

As has been posted previously in this thread. That is not necessarily always the case.

Re: Harrassed & Detained For Carrying Cash @ Airpo

I see the individual as suspect. It's not common to carry that much cash when traveling. I'd agree with detaining him until we could verify that he was on the up and up without any warrants or being suspect for any other crimes. Law must be enforced. This is how it's done. People's actions make them suspect. Personally, I just think this guy's stupid because he shouldn't carry this kind of cash while traveling. He asked for it in my opinion. Detaining him until he was cleared caused him no harm.

Put yourself in the shoes of airport security.

What do you mean? There are some circumstances where it is admissible?

What was he going to do with the money if he didn't have his local bank having a branch in the area of the meeting he attended? If it's after hours he certainly can't put cash in the night deposit.

I will toss an idea. If they beat him up or were accused of beating him up or violating his "Muslim" mind if he was Muslim, There is 100% chance they would use their tapes, and get them admitted as evidence to protect the state. You seem to be bogged down on "recording" and that is true on the "telephone"

No we can go listen to gov Blagovech (former) from Illinois cussing on the phone and we can read mayor Kiwannaaii from detroit text his woman.
