Yes, Bro. Nathan,
It would have been! I have heard that he had discussions with some
of our ministers. Can't recall who it was!

Afraid?
Maybe they just think that homosexuality is sinful and devilish, and freemasonry is sinful and devilish.
In both cases, they'd be 100% right.

I've never met a minister from a different denomination that answered me "UPC? What's that?" Either way, UPC is those oneness people that he is referring to, since... we are ONENESS!
BTW... count me in as one "afraid" of homosexuality and free masons.

Don't kid yourself. I've known several ministers from other denominations who had no clue whatsoever the UPC is. In fact, with at least two I've talked with, when I mentioned that I grew up UPC and still believe in the doctrine of the UPC (oneness, Jesus' name baptism), they had no idea what I was talking about and could see no reason at all why it should bother them to have me teaching Sunday School in their trinity churches.

He owned and still owns some of the most valuable property in B.R. along the I-10 corridor. The Mall of Louisana and all the surrounding businesses is on property he sold for developement.
He also did not have any debt at the time the scandals broke back in 1986. What was under construction at the time came to a halt. There is multi-storied building, that looks bombed out because it was never completed. It has been a huge eyesore in one of the nicest areas of B.R for over 20 years.

Anyhow, I understand that TW Barnes prayed against him after that and it wasn't long until.....

In his book Jimmy also pretty much showed he not only did not know Oneness but he also was a Trithiest not a Trinitarian

JS is clueless on Oneness doctrine as are most Trinitarians when they try to debate it. That includes people like Boyd and others who have debated it or wrote books.

Re: Jimmy Swaggart's Wife
How many of you guys actually listen to JS on a regular basis? While I don't listen as much anymore I still listen to his study in the word almost every morning on my way to work. It is very rare that they mention the Oneness folks but they usually talk about us in a much better light than they do Rick Warren and all the other folks they bash.
I have also heard them say that many of us believe the same as them but it is just terminology. Sounds like they aren't as hard line as they once were.

I would be very interested to know what RP thought was the truth. Was it the Oneness doctrine, standards, speaking in tongues to be saved, or baptismal regeneration?
