That's the thing... the fact that this person was playing the piano at a neighboring apostolic church on an off night is not a news worthy item. There is absolutely no problem with them doing that.
But... the spirit in which it was passed on was one in which gossip was intended. Their playing of the piano was only perceived to be a "hot news item" and it was passed on in that spirit.
So... you are right about the actual facts... but it was perceived by someone as being a hot piece of gossip.
This is evidenced by their need to ask the pastor if it WAS gossip in the first place... the affirmative response of the pastor... and the fact that, even after the pastor said that it would be gossip... it was too juicy not to pass on.
