If not, given the opportunity, I'll whip ya with both of them! LOLOL

IF it is just the dictionary version then it is not much, but the full lexicon is one of the best I hear
A trio of eminent Old Testament scholars—Francis Brown, R. Driver, and Charles Briggs—spent over twenty years researching, writing, and preparing The Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon. Since it first appeared in the early part of the twentieth century, BDB has been considered the finest and most comprehensive Hebrew lexicon available to the English-speaking student. Based upon the classic work of Wilhelm Gesenius, the "father of modern Hebrew lexicography," BDB gives not only dictionary definitions for each word, but relates each word to its Old Testament usage and categorizes its nuances of meaning. BDB's exhaustive coverage of Old Testament Hebrew words, as well as its unparalleled usage of cognate languages and the wealth of background sources consulted and quoted, render BDB and invaluable resource for all students of the Bible.

BTW have you tried the twot?

My Gesenius also does all of that including listing all of the Binyanim usages with sample texts, plus rendering many of the words in Arabic, Syriac, German, and a bunch more. Even so, if the full version of the BDB (which I ordered) makes needed corrections (additions), then the few bucks are a good investment for language accuracy. With shipping it cost me $21.79.
No, I have not gone to the TWOT. Wish I could afford it! <whimper> Just too expensive! Of course, I will gladly accept it as a gift! Hint - Hint!

That is about $75.00, isn't it? That will have to wait until next year.
Sorry kids, really didn't mean to hijack the thread. But, it would be well worth the cost, if you can come up with it, to get some of these references materials for yourself and start your own Bible &* word studies. It should not change your beliefs, but it will give you a deeper understanding and appreciation of the words you read.
Really - go for it!

Maybe it's just me, but...
I know God is offended by a variety of things us humans do, but somehow it's hard for me to think that He's offended by someone blurting out "oh my God".

Re: Thou Shalt Not Take The Name..........
Posted this on another website a couple weeks ago, so might as well use it to state my opinion here.
Exodus 20:7
“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain
dictionary.com
in vain,
a. without effect or avail; to no purpose: to apologize in vain.
b. in an improper or irreverent manner: to take God's name in vain.
Its ever more prevelant in todays society and especially the youth. Even Yahoo has now added a catagory in their social section titled "OMG". According to the definition above it is using the Lords name in vain. There is no real heart felt purpose or reverence when it is spoken as it is in this format so is it not disrespectful of God to do so ?
Further more the commandment says not to take the "name" of the Lord in vain. With the oneness of the Christ does this commandment not now include the name of Jesus ? Is it right to proclaim "Jesus Christ" to convey a feeling of surprise or aw ?
