One thing I think is that it won't just be this meeting and it's over...
I think this is going to sour and tie some folks up for years...pitting family against family...brother against brother and sister against sister....

This assumes people leaving is always a BAD thing...

You are almost on the edge of ugly with this sentence.

I think you misunderstood. The thread was opened with the thought that the letter writers doth protest too much... We all are familiar with that phrase. It seemed to me that the charge was being made that the "letter writers" (specifically CC) were aware of more damage then they were letting on.
I disagreed with that analysis and offered the opinion that since the total numbers are not in, everyone is speaking from a position of benightedness. None of us know what the impact will be.
My looks may put me "on the edge of ugly," I can do nothing about that. But what I said was not unkind. I'm sorry if you took it some other way. I'm still trying to read the post in a way that sounds offensive, but I can't get it.

Doesn't matter if it is a good thing or bad thing. I have theorized before on AFF that perhaps the powers that be at the Mothership are actually ok with those that have been unhappy for some time leaving as it will result in more unity with those left.
However even if that is true HQ will still be criticized no matter how they handle the Tulsa meeting and people leaving.
Say nothing and you are said to be sticking your head in the sand. Address the situation and you are said to be running scared, etc.

WEC might be saying, put up with a short term headache to avoid a long term one...

We aren't really considered to be of any consequence by HQ...I have been in enough general committee meetings to know that, and I understand why. Not enough numbers or dollars. That doesn't offend me at all. I know what organizations are and how they function. Money talks.
So whether I leave or not doesn't mean a whole lot.
The resolution affects me about as much as folks in Alaska would be affected if congress passed a law limiting the use of air conditioning.

I guess we are in the same boat, it would be of very little consequence if I pulled out of the UPCI. It doesn't matter to me to what organization a brother belongs or doesn't as long as he's preaching The Truth and producing the fruit of the Spirit. When the love of Christ is in evidence, I don't care what a person calls them self.

Would that be the Civil War of 1992-1993 in which, I understand, over 800 UPCI ministers left the org.?

Oh yes, they will eb criticized, but I am just saying God is in control and all is not lost in spite of the criticism.
