It's questioned because many of us don't see any issue. Regarding the part in bold, since those posts get deleted, many - if not most - of us never even knew the aforementioned posts ever existed. As such, do you really find it odd that we would question a posting about abusing the delete option?

Some additional possible reasons:

1.) Posted a topic in the wrong forum, so deleted it and reposted it in the correct location.

2.) Asked a question then answered it yourself immediately after posting.

3.) Any other reason that doesn't involve sniping another member then hiding behind the delete option.

You know, the fact that this is even being questioned in this manner, like it's a bad or unnecessary thing, is, in my opinion, shameful.

Here the admins are trying to address a real concern that is actually happening whether anyone realizes it or not, in order to help the community be a better place, and to be our brother's keeper, to help a brother or sister think before they post, if what they're going to post isn't in line with standard Christian decorum, or be upfront and confess and apologize if they do so, and it's being taken lightly like it's some kind of joke.
I think people saying things they wouldn't normally say in person is a common issue in any forum setting online. Sometimes annonymity *probably misspelled that* brings out the worst of our nature's.

That being said I totally understand where admin is coming from and I ask that my comments please not be taken as disrespect.

I have a really dark joking mindset that sometimes*who am I kidding it's all the time* rears its head at the wrong moments.

I'm not here to cause any strife or division. I seek peace with all men and women.

Re: Abuse of the Delete Option

I think leaving severely negative comments on the board is worse than having them deleted from the board almost immediately. One stirs up more strife than the other.

I think any poster that would request admin leave all negative comments up is doing so in the wrong spirit to try and make others accountable instead of taking the delete gesture of a negative comment as an act of repentance.

If someone is truly overusing the delete option then have a convo with them about trying to think before they speak and that excessive use of that option is a problem. Moderation is a principle we can all agree with I think.

Some of them want to delete you.
Some of them want to be deleted by you...

I'm way too tired and have a migraine or I'd continue that parody.
